A ChildOur school is a not-for-profit institution and receives no direct public funding. Families and sponsors pay socially-affordable school fees, and additional funds can provide high-quality staff and material resources that 'make a big difference'.

You can join the journey by investing your passion, energy, expertise, time and money:

    • In-class educators (opportunities suitable for Indian nationals or experienced educators from other countries having an intimate knowledge of the Indian education system, preferably for a period of at least two months) 
      • Qualified and experienced teachers to impart activity-based teaching methods and interesting approaches to learning English, science, maths and IT
      • Qualified teachers for Nursery & Infant classes, art & craft, music, sport and drama

    • Co-curricular Skills
      • Spidey-CompostsEnthusiastic, knowledgeable 'gardener' to work alongside Spider-man to embed sustainable practices including greenhouse food-growing activities, water management, recycling and composting download the pdf.
    • Living Traditions Heritage Project
      • Assistant to work with local manager to establish and run a Visitor Centre and 'Drukpa Heritage Trail' during the tourist season
      • Movie/audio-video specialist and graphic designer to develop promotional and educational materials
      • Assistant to develop a digital archive of cultural materials and develop associated educational materials

    • People
      • Teacher Resource Centre, including teacher training
      • Sponsor a day pupil or a remote area student from a disadvantaged family
      • Support a senior specialist teacher (e.g. English, maths, science)
      • Provide scholarships for talented young people from remote areas, where the education system has failed them, to re-sit matriculation ('2nd Chance Scholarships')
    • Buildings & infrastructure
      • Completion of the Secondary School and related infrastructure
      • Urgently needed on-campus residential accommodation for remote area students
      • Auditorium/Library

By offering their time and expertise, and paying their own expenses, volunteers make a significant contribution to the life of the school and its students. Nearly all the international support for the project is provided on a voluntary basis, including the work of the Arup Design Team.
